Abstract: Event detection and tracking is a somewhat new field in information research. Detection involves spotting new, previously unreported real-life events from an online news feed, while event tracking aims to automatically assign event tags to news as it arrives. In this article, the COVID-19 dataset was analyzed for the purpose of performing trend analysis and determining patterns that would allow future predictions to be made.
