Numerical Solution of a Thermoelastic Contact Problem

Abstract: We consider a frictionless contact problem in which the material’s behavior is modeled with a thermoelastic constitutive law, the contact is modeled with normal compliance including the thermal conductivity condition in which the heat exchange boundary condition is affected by normal displacement on contact boundary, see [1] for details. In the present work we focus on numerical simulations of the problem. To this end, we introduce a discrete scheme, based on the finite element method.
