Abstract: The aim of this work is to study optimal control of a nonlinear Kirchhoff plate equation, where the control enters the system bilinearly through the boundary. The question is to obtain a distributed control that drives such a system from an initial state to a desired one in finite time, and minimises a quadratic functional cost. Our purpose is to prove for a closed convex set that an optimal control exists.
