Abstract: In this paper, we consider a fractional-order viscoelastic wave described by the Caputo fractional derivative[1,2]. These viscoelastic models are shown to be effective in modeling the attenuation of waves, especially the approximation of quality factor Q [3]. This study focuses on the numerical modeling of wave propagation in viscoelastic media with a fractional Zener model. We present a family of models which generalize Zener’s model.
