Abstract: Consider the problem of nonparametric estimation of system reliability R defined as R = P(X > Y ) named as Stress-Strength reliability, where X and Y are random variables representing respectively, the strength of a component and stress applied to it. Different parametric estimators are proposed, namely the maximum likelihood estimator, uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimator (UMVUE), and the Bayesian estimate of R.
