Abstract: Deep learning-based medical image segmentation is a field of computer-aided diagnosis (CADx) that focuses on extracting useful information from medical images to help clinicians make a quick and error-free diagnosis [1]. In this paper we present a brain tumor segmentation approach based on one of the most widely considered Convolutional Neural Network architecture named U-Net introduced by Ranneberger and al. [2]. The main idea is to segment the brain MRI image into three sub-regions: whole tumor, tumor core and enhancing tumor. For this we used the default hyper parameters settings [3]. ...
