A Finite Volume Morphodynamic Model with Porosity for Flood Modeling

Abstract: We present a finite volume method [4] for the numerical solution of morphodynamic model with porosity on unstructured triangular meshes [1,4] using a Non-Homogeneous Riemann Solver [2]. The model is based on coupling the shallow water equations with porosity for the hydrodynamics model can be attributed to the variation of bed properties [3] of the flow system. The numerical fluxes are reconstructed using a modified Roe's method involving the sign of the Jacobian matrix in the morphodynamic system. A well-balanced discretization is used for the treatment of source terms in the system [5]. ...
